How are the "Trending Mods" calculated on the game homepage?
To highlight the most popular recent content, each game’s homepage includes a “Trending Mods” section at the top. The specific criteria for this section can vary between games, so it’s not always obvious what’s being shown or how your mod might qualify to appear here.
The “Trending Mods” list is determined using a straightforward algorithm. Each game is manually assigned a “trending period” - either 7, 14, or 28 days. Mods published within this period are then ranked by the number of endorsements they’ve received. For example, if a game’s trending period is set to 7 days, the list will show mods released in the last 7 days, sorted by endorsements.
Why isn't my mod appearing in the "Trending Mods" section?
To be considered as a trending mod, make sure your mod meets the following criteria:
- The mod page was first published within the trending period for the game. (Note: This is the date you first clicked "Publish" and doesn't change when new files are added.)
- The mod page has more endorsements than at least the mod shown in sixth place.
If you believe your mod qualifies but is not appearing, please let a Community Manager know, and we'll double-check for you.
The "Trending Mods" section isn't up to date. Is it a bug?
To avoid re-calculating the trending mods too often, the mods displayed on the homepage can be cached for up to an hour. Try checking back after at least one hour to see if the issue has been resolved.
