What is a Unique Download?

File pages have a 'Unique Downloads' metric associated with them. This number represents the number of times that any file associated with that mod page has been downloaded by a unique Nexus Mods user. So, a single user downloading multiple files associated with a particular mod page will not be counted more than once toward this metric.

For example, assume "Mod A" contains 2 files, "Main file" and "Optional file". If "User A" downloads "Main file" and "Optional file" and "User B" downloads only "Main file", the unique downloads count will only be incremented by two, as "User A's" download activity is only counted uniquely, once per mod. This allows our users a useful metric to gauge the popularity of a mod's offerings, no matter its file configuration.
