Fallout Modathon Terms and Conditions

Promoter

1.1. The Fallout Modathon 2025 (“the Event”) is organised by Black Tree Gaming Ltd, trading as Nexus Mods (“the Promoter”).

Registered office: Black Tree Gaming Ltd, 33 Southernhay East, Exeter, Devon, EX1 1NX, United Kingdom.

Registered in England and Wales No. 06360077.

1.2. The Event runs on the Nexus Mods website (www.nexusmods.com).

1.3. By entering the Event, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Eligibility

2.1. The Event is open to all registered Nexus Mods users who meet the site’s minimum age requirement. However, certain prizes, including the Las Vegas travel prize, are only available to entrants aged 18 or over, as detailed in Section 4.3.

2.2. By using Nexus Mods, you represent that you are aged 18 or older, or that you are aged 13 or older and have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2.3. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Members of the judging panel may participate for fun but are not eligible to win prizes.

2.4. Eligibility for certain prizes, including the Las Vegas travel prize, is subject to the additional conditions set out in Section 4.3. All submitted mods must use assets that entrants are legally entitled to use and that are not subject to restrictions from other game companies or rights holders.

Entry Rules

3.1. The Event opens at 00:00 BST on 23 October 2025 and closes at 23:59 GMT on 31 December 2025.

3.2. To participate, entrants must upload a mod to Nexus Mods during the Event window and tag it with Fallout Modathon 2025. Mods may be for any Fallout title, or Fallout-inspired mods for other games. To qualify for weekly theme awards, entries must be relevant to the published theme for that week.

3.3. Existing projects are eligible if first released during the Event window.

3.4. Collaborations are welcome. All collaborators must be listed on the mod’s Nexus Mods page at the time of submission. Where a collaborative entry wins a prize, each listed collaborator will receive an individual prize where applicable (such as badges or merchandise). For prizes that cannot be duplicated, including the Las Vegas travel prize, only one collaborator (the main uploader as listed on the mod page) will be eligible to claim the prize. It will be the responsibility of the collaborators to decide who represents the team for such prizes.

3.5. Mods must comply with Nexus Mods’ Site Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Mods must be safe for work.

3.6. No porting of Bethesda assets into other games is permitted.

3.7. Mods that have been previously paywalled or otherwise restricted must remain publicly available on Nexus Mods. By entering the Event, entrants agree that if their mod wins a prize, the Promoter may keep the winning entry publicly available on Nexus Mods for a reasonable period after the Event to preserve the integrity of the competition.

Prizes and Recognition

4.1. All participants will receive a digital Fallout Modathon badge, which can be displayed on their Nexus Mods profile and mod pages. Additional digital badges will be awarded for specific milestones and prize categories.

4.2. Each category winner (as listed in Sections 5.3, 5.4, and 5.5) will receive one digital badge, one Nexus Mods merchandise pack (stickers, magnets, and a t-shirt), and either a Steam gift card or a GOG game key of their choice, up to the value of £50. Community Recognition winners (Most Endorsed and Most Downloaded) will instead receive the Las Vegas travel prize outlined in Section 4.3.

4.3. Select winners will be awarded a travel experience to Las Vegas, taking place from Thursday 26 February to Monday 2 March 2026. The prize includes business class flights, all-inclusive accommodation for 3 days, VIP tickets for a Cirque du Soleil show, a Hummer tour, a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon, and group meals with the Nexus Mods team. This prize is only available to winners aged 18 or over. Community Recognition Awards for Most Endorsed and Most Downloaded are restricted to Fallout titles only; Fallout-inspired mods for non-Fallout games will not qualify for the Las Vegas travel prize. To be eligible to claim the Las Vegas prize, winners must be legally able to travel to the United States, with a valid passport and no restrictions on entry. If a winner is under 18 or otherwise unable to accept the prize, it will be offered to the next eligible participant in the same category (Most Endorsed or Most Downloaded). Where this is not possible, an alternative prize of equal value will be offered. Winners may bring a guest on the Las Vegas trip, but all flights, activities, and accommodation beyond a shared room (including, but not limited to, meals and personal expenses for the guest) must be covered at the winner’s or the guest’s own expense. The Promoter will not cover any costs for guests. Guests may attend group meals but are responsible for their own costs. Please note that activities will be pre-booked, so we cannot guarantee that a guest will be able to take part, even if they or the winner are willing to pay for it.

4.4. Prizes are non-transferable. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute any prize with a reasonable equivalent if necessary.

4.5. Winners of the Las Vegas travel prize agree to participate in reasonable publicity, including appearing in Nexus Mods content such as videos and photographs. By accepting the prize, winners grant the Promoter the right to use such content for promotional purposes in connection with the Event.

Judging and Community Recognition

5.1. Category winners will be selected by an independent judging panel made up of respected members of the Fallout modding community. Judges will assess mods based on creativity, quality, and relevance to the theme.

5.2. Judges may participate in the Event for fun but are not eligible to win prizes.

5.3. Core Awards include:

  • Best Thematic Mod
  • Best Gameplay Mod
  • Best Visual Mod
  • Best Newcomer
  • Community Favourite

5.4. Special Fallout Twist Awards include:

  • Wasteland Crossover
  • Vault-Tec Ingenuity
  • Most Ambitious Project
  • Hidden Gem
  • Collection Spotlight

5.5. Community Partner Awards include:

  • Merry Modding Days Choice
  • Fallout for Hope Award

5.6. Community Recognition Awards include:

  • Most Endorsed – Mod with the highest number of endorsements during the Event
  • Most Downloaded – Mod with the highest number of unique downloads during the Event

Only endorsements and unique downloads from Nexus Mods accounts created prior to the announcement of the Fallout Modathon will be counted. This is to ensure fairness and to prevent manipulation of results. Winners of the Community Recognition Awards will receive the Las Vegas travel prize, subject to eligibility in Section 4.3.

Announcements and Delivery

6.1. Winners will be announced in a news post on Nexus Mods after the Event closes.

6.2. Winners will also be contacted via Nexus Mods private messages.

6.3. Digital prizes (such as game keys or gift cards) will normally be delivered within 30 days of contact.

6.4. Physical prizes (such as merchandise) may take longer to arrive depending on location. The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to deliver physical prizes within 90 days of contact.

6.5. The Las Vegas travel prize will take place from Thursday 26 February to Monday 2 March 2026. Winners must be able to travel on these dates, arriving in Las Vegas on the evening of 26 February and departing on 2 March. Winners must also be legally able to enter the United States with a valid passport and no restrictions on entry. The prize will be arranged directly with the winner. The Promoter will cover the cost of business class flights, accommodation, VIP tickets for a Cirque du Soleil show, a Hummer tour, a helicopter trip over the Grand Canyon, and group meals as described. Personal expenses outside the itinerary are the responsibility of the winner. Winners may bring a guest on the trip, but all flights, activities, and accommodation beyond a shared room (including, but not limited to, meals and personal expenses for the guest) must be covered by the winner or the guest at their own expense. The Promoter will not cover any costs for guests. Guests may attend group meals but are responsible for their own costs. Please note that activities will be pre-booked, so we cannot guarantee that a guest will be able to take part, even if they or the winner are willing to pay for it.

6.6. Travel Insurance and Liability. Winners are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel insurance for the Las Vegas prize. The Promoter accepts no liability for any injury, loss, or damage incurred by winners or their guests outside of the official itinerary. Winners and guests are expected to behave responsibly throughout the trip. The Promoter will not be held liable for incidents or expenses arising from activities not organised as part of the prize package.

6.7. Legal Restrictions. Winners and guests must comply with all applicable laws of the United States during the trip. For example, individuals under the age of 21 will not be permitted to consume alcohol or gamble. The Promoter accepts no responsibility if winners or guests are unable to participate in certain activities due to legal restrictions.

Fairness and Integrity

7.1. The Promoter reserves the right to remove entries that breach these Terms and Conditions.

7.2. The Promoter may disqualify participants who attempt to manipulate results or otherwise act unfairly.

7.3. In exceptional circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control, the Event may be amended or cancelled. Any such decision will be taken fairly and with the aim of avoiding unnecessary disappointment.

7.4. Only one prize may be awarded per entrant, regardless of the number of accounts or mods submitted. Entrants may upload multiple mods, but may only win one prize in total. If an entrant qualifies for more than one prize, the Promoter will award the higher-value prize and reallocate the other to the next eligible participant.

7.5. The Promoter reserves the right to review endorsement and download data to identify fraudulent or suspicious activity, including but not limited to the use of bots or artificial traffic. Entries found to be benefiting from such activity may be disqualified at the Promoter’s discretion.

General

8.1. By participating in the Event, entrants agree to these Terms and Conditions.

8.2. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
